Rooftop Roses grows beautiful flowers for you, for the benefit of the people and the planet we live on. An initiative from The Beautiful Bunch, a much-loved Melbourne social enterprise, Rooftop Roses is a response to the interconnected social and environmental challenges we face. 

The Australian floral landscape is dominated by imported roses that are grown in countries with questionable worker’s rights and unsustainable and environmentally harmful practices. Rooftop Roses will be a first-of-its-kind urban flower farm, using hydroponic farming techniques with minimal environmental impact, grown in Melbourne’s CBD. 

We believe that we have a profound responsibility to leave the planet in a better shape than we found it. The roses we grow will celebrate the beauty and splendour of the natural world, whilst being kind to the earth. The growth, harvest, and sale of our roses, will provide young women from refugee backgrounds marginalised from the mainstream workforce, with the skills, income, and experience to prepare them for employment in the rapidly changing workforce of the future.
